Has anyone here used this or had dealings with it. The nearest supplier I can find is in Dublin. We want to use it as a division between a toilet and shower area but have no ideas as to cost although we can get a sample for 250euros. Any info gratefully received.

We've worked on a few projects where it's been used for Master Bed, Master Suite partitions.

Privalite is one of the names I remember.

I'm on a project where all the internal partitions are using this. I'll post some details when I'm in the office tomorrow.

It may be based on nothing but urban legend, but dont these things fade with age? Particularly if positioned somewhere so the sun shines through it?

Saw this in Nortel's 'Broadband Centre' (when nobody knew what broadband was). Surprised it hasn't caught on - must be damn expensive.

Not sure if this is the same thing but a mate's girlfriend lives in a flat where the windows automatically frost over when touch a pad on the wall - you can also control how much they frost by rubbing the pad!! cool

Shut it pervert, you're the one called Number 2.

Quite why everything has to be so techno this techno that these days I've no idea.

Give me an old school glass coffee table any day of the week.

As Plotloss says, Privalite is the stuff you are thinking of. It's about £1,500 a sq m, but then it is very cool.

Whereas the Privalite is bonded to the glass you buy, Komfort were developing a film which could be applied to existing windows / glass partitions. That was around half the cost (£750 sq m!) but unless you get the film on perfectly, you got trapped bubbles / dust etc which spoiled the look.

Was that at the Concord Road site in Maidenhead?

This is the company I mentioned. I have no comment on their product as it hasn't been installed yet.

Nope, the old STL building in Harlow. We were filming a 'guided tour' with the aid of an R/C helicopter.

Yes that is the one with a stockist in Dublin. I have ordered a sample so we will see (no pun intended).
Thanks everyone.
