How on earth can that be described as good value at £200!

They come from Costco and cost £40. Absolutely solid.

In my garage I used Spur uprights, screwed to the wall, with adjustable slot in and differing length brackets, together with 25 mm block board cut to the appropriate size.

Either Ebay or a company/person dealing in second shop fittings might be a good place to purchase.

One really looses any flexibility of use by buying that type of system. Whereas with a wall mounted upright shelving system, one can both adjust the width, depth and length of shelving to suit one’s needs.

We've got some Costco shelving that is about £60 a set, it's not the stuff pictured above but it's a flexible system so, as Wings says, you can adjust it to what you need. I'll try to find some pics, if not I'll go to the shed and take some piccies for you!

Very solid, very flexible.

Depends on how budget friendly you want it, try your local Howdens our's regularly throw away end of line kitchen unit carcasses may get them for free or at least significant discount.

Depends if the look of the garage is that critical.

It's fixable...

Another vote for spur wallmount shelving here.

Those big dug shelf units (or whatever brand)eat into your floor space and will end up in the way at some time or another.

Each of our last three houses has ended up with spur wallmount shelves wrapped around three walls of the garage. It really maximises what you can do with the available space.

Each time we have moved it has all come with us and been refitted and expanded upon as each time the garage has got bigger !

Spent last weekend with my dad putting up some shelves in the garage - used some old spur-type wall mounting things and brackets. They are good.

However, my worry with them is that once they're up you can't move them around. I used them down the side of the garage where I don't want to take up floor space in order to get the car in, but at the end of the garage I'll use ones like the Ikea ones I think. I bought a set of them about 10 years ago that were bigger, with more shelves and cheaper... Those ones look really narrow.

The Spur uprights are so cheap, that i just don't bother moving them, but just the brackets and the shelves. The Ikea type shelving system takes up floor space, which one surely does not want to do if garaging a car in the garage.

What are you putting on there - a gearbox or tins of paint?

Go look on Ebay - you can get some great stuff on there - and pretty good value.

Did my garage with a load of big dug stuff, very resonable and strong enough to take an engine on each shelf if required.

Links to the sort of stuff?

Wings - the shelving is at the end of the garage where the bench is so floor space will be used for storage so no problems the shelves being at floor level.
