Will be looking for a new boiler in the next few weeks and I have be recommended Viessmann as being a good buy. Anyone had any experience of these? They look quite good value and offer a 5 year parts and labour warranty, so they must be confident with their product. I also got a quote from a local Viessmann installer for £2k plus VAT for a combi to combi swap, does that sound ok? I am in Somerset.

Many thanks
Pete

Hmm.. I just paid £2750 inc VAT for a completely new Valliant Combi installation (not a direct swap - lots of new extra pipe installations, drainage, chimney through roof and removal of old system) 100 meters of all new under floor piping and 4 new radiators..

I don't want to hijack this thread, but i'm in the same predicament!

I've got a quote here for just over £4k inc vat for:

New Grant Vortex 15/21 oil fired condensing boiler
Installation of boiler (includes moving it from current location to new)
Supply and fit new hot water cylinder, immersion heater stat etc
Add thermostatic valves to all rads
Powerflush system
New timer and wiring

Was more than I was expecting, however, I haven't fitted an oil boiler system before, and the current one is 25+ years old so is knackered... Any clues from anyone who does this, or has had the same work done recently (In the South East, paying South East prices)?

I am having similar work done next week. That looks like a very reasonable quote to me.
