Hi All,

Can anyone recommend a website or other resource for ideas on a smallish (10m x 20m) garden design?

I've got a week off work next week and free labour visiting (parents) but lack inspiration and haven't managed to come up with a design I like :-( Doesn't help that it's snowing still here.

Last year we cleared the whole thing and fenced it. At the moment it's a rectangle of patchy lawn, with a mature sweet chestnut at one end which means 50% of the garden is in shade for half the year. Want some lawn (dog/kids) but also a small veg area and a "cottage" style for the rest. Orientation is South.

For those that have done it, where did you get your inspiration?

ETA The Americans don't seem to like it but I found it very good.

Thanks. I was going to ask if it was a personal recommendation because the review on Amazon didn't seem too positive, but now I've seen your edit

Dorling Kindersley in association with the RHS used to do a range of A5 sized guides - including one called Designs or Ideas for Small Gardens. It's on my shelf at home and very, very useful. Plenty of pics and ideas. It was part of a range which also covered patios and steps (hard landscaping) and pot plants and water features by memory. Bought ours from the shop at RHS Wisley - but not been back for a while.
