Hi,

Just moved into a house with a pretty poor concrete garage but as it will have to fill my needs for the short term i'm after adding abit of security to it as its going to have an uninsured car and all my tools in it.

Its just got a metal door atm. with a standard lock....

Whats best? I was thinking of using a padlock and clasp idea...

Cheers in Advance!

Something like this?

However I'm looking for something a little more subtle and stealth as my garages are in a communal block not on private property, where frankly using something like that in bright red screams that you have something to hide in the garage thus making you a target where you weren't before.

These are pretty good and very subtle.

If it's an up and over door, I always used to drill a hole in the bolt and put a padlock through it on the inside, (assuming you have another door on the garage). This helps prevent the bolt being forced from outside, and can't be seen.

If you only need access from outside, these are a start. Padlocks can be punched, or the loop relatively easily cut.

(also for bazking) - particularly in a block, you want the visual deterrent as much as the actual security - the thief will go for the easier target. The Pacris pdv6 suggests need to be either cut out in toto, or a hacksaw through the tiny bit of the bolt that is visible.
A better bet would be to triangulate with a third or fourth lock - so a pair of pacri locks high, and a hasp & padlock low. That's a right bugger to deal with and most crooks will turn tail.
