Hi

Does anyone know if this combo goes well together. GF asked in a shop this weekend and they said with it being a cold winter people had turned up their systems and now they where shrinking badly.

Secondly does anyone know any good places in Kent area that do parque flooring or reclaimed parque? Anyone used reclaimed parque?

Thanks
Simon

have done a few house refurbs with reclaimed parquet

whilst I can live with it (as I love the distressed look of it) other don't and want it sanded flat - it's a total pig of a job and will never look like a new floor

it will cost more to lay due to the material being double handed and selected

in the end it depends what you want

I don't have UFH but have noticed in my house that where the CH pipes run in the screed the floors have moved - I have 20mm solid walnut

Parquet.

I would say it's not really suitable - wood shrinks and warps when it's over-dried.

my parquet (concrete floor) was put down with a kind of bitumen substance and i see no way of putting u/floor heating below that.
Personally i thought it looked ste, and it was loose in places so i outed it anyway !!
Underfloor heating dries everything out (furniture included) and the only real benifit is taking the edge off cold floors (lovely in my ceramic floor tiled bathroom) and losing "ugly" rads (which probably do a better job of heating up a room and are far more controlable and responsive)
