I'm trying to find some hollow studding or threaded tube (external thread). M8, but M6 or M10 would do. I need to bolt two things together with wires running between them.

Any ideas?

OK Drew, thread tube isn't that common, so a question how long will the finished bolt need to be? If it's not that long then buy the 10mm and drill it out to suit your cables. Don't forget you can easily get long series drills up to say 8-9mm.

It might be easier to start with tube and tap it (tap and die sets are quite cheap), than start with studding and try to drill a hole down the middle.

The OP should seek out lighting manufacturers, since the threaded tube he requires, is extensively used in the manufacture of lamp stands/ floor lamps.

Thanks, I'd already found 10mm ones used for lighting. 8 or 6mm would have been better.

Just had a brain wave, cable adjusters, like on push bikes.
