Does anyone have any recommendations for clearly labelled, illustrated building construction books?

I am currently stuck trying to teach a student the workings of building construction and feel a book would be much more useful for her to have to hand rather than trying to find details on the internet.

I've given her my copies of the Metric Handbook and Architect's Pocketbook to look through but they are quite heavy going for a student.

Any suggestions are welcome.

Funnily enough that is the one I was thinking of. Looks pretty clear with hand drawn sketches throughout, all with clear labelling. Could be a winner. thumbup

Chudley is on the reading list for the first year Builders at Northumbria Uni.

I think it's on the list at most colleges and uni's building type courses.

The Construction of Houses - that's another 1st year Uni book.

'Chudley' is one of the best entry level allround construction books available, the dictionary of construction by penguin is pretty good too!
