Hi,

I'm having a bathroom fitted and i was wondering what kind of price range should i be looking at to have it fitted?

the old bathroom needs to be taken out - bath, sink toilet.
the walls are half tiled and those need to come off too.

the new stuff is a shower cabin - a standard cabin with no electronics etc. a new cabin+sink and a new toilet - the sink and the toilet are going in the same place - the shower will be going roughly in the same place as the bath barring any piping at the back that may need aligning.

tiling wise - floor tiling roughly 3m/2
walls - 14m/2 in total.

ceiling wise - i'm thinking of getting some cladding but this isnt 100% i'm just trying to work the cost of that.

the light also is to be changed

i'm in lancashire so what kinda price should i be looking for the fitting and tiling?

many thanks

I would say you would be looking about the £1500 mark, but every job is different. New lights would be notifible. I would also reccomend putting in an extractor at the same time as well if you havent already got one fitted.

smile thanks guys.

we've had one quote in at 1000 and another at 650+ £20 per m/2 for the tiling.

You could strip out and dump all the old stuff yourself to cut down the costs a bit?

Would only take a Saturday and a trip to the dump with a boot full of rubble sacks

mine took three focus estate boot fulls

bath took an hour of battering, eventually gave way with a 4lb lump hammer to smash it in three

thankfully the bath is all plastic and breaking it into pieces shouldnt be a problem though taking the loo out i can see being more of a prob!

Shouldn't be too bad. Just disconeect everything and take the cistern off first which is not too heavy.
For the pan just unscrew the floor fixings and then ease it out of the soil pipe connection. Tip the u-bend water down the nearest sink/bath and you're done. They can be a bit heavy, but nothing an average bloke can't get downstairs with a bit of huffing and puffing.

Just have some old towels handy as you will spill a bit of water.

im up in the north east, i paid 1800 to get mine fitted late last year. That was about 22 square metres of tiling, sink moved slightly, hans grohe thermostatic valve fitted to replace leccy shower and 4 downlighters fitted to the ceiling.

The fitters for the bathroom/kitchen company I work at charge a £150 day rate. Judging by that, your quotes seem about right, maybe a touch on the high side.
