Courier for fragile object req'd.. ideas much appreciated!
Discussion
Have just purchased a cool notice board (kinda opaque glass) over the phone from a store in
London (50 x 80cm) but am really struggling with getting it delivered up to Aberdeen.
The retalier, Skandium, can only arrange delivery if its with an insured service and the
only quote they can get is 250 quid (which is twice the price of the notice board!).
Any suggestions / ideas of companies used to moving fragile objects would be gratefully received.
Sounds like a high risk it'll arrives in pieces if it goes via a conventional courier.
Cheers

I've used this guy to transport a huge (and fragile...) fishtank - no problem at all. His name is David, he's based in Leeds but will give you a fair quote to transport your notice board if he can do it. If he can't, he won't take on the job. He usually picks up and drops off on the same day, and he usually has another bloke with him to help with lugging large items.
He's picked up stuff for me in Leeds, gone on to another pickup in Cardiff and then dropped off near Reading for just over £100, same day delivery.
I have a phone number for him as well if you need to talk to him, but generally it's easier to mail him because he won't answer his phone if he's driving.
