Hey all,

We're currently trying to choose a digital shower for our new bathroom install. Does anyone have any recommendations or horror stories about the above makes? Budgeting about £550 for something decent, but unfortunately can't stretch to the nice Grohe option which is another £200....

If there's any other makes I should be looking at then I'd love to consider them too...

Thanks,

Simon

Very pleased with my Aqualisa, and the backup if you need help is excellent. Warranty is 3 or 5 years depending on the product.

The Aqualisa ones work very well, most plumbers like fitting them as they are very easy to install. The Ilux has a few more functions over the Quartz which is the most popular.
If you check out our website in my details , we should be able to sort a good price on the Ilux, (not supposed to be discounted on line!)
Contact Mark and tell him Andrew gave you the web details!

Cheers

Just check where the pipe inlet is as it differs between brands. I tried to replace my mother-in-laws triton shower with a mira but as the inlet was on the other side, I couldn't get it to fit in the required space. Ended up buying another Triton

These types of shower have the control box hidden away ie in the loft or airing cupboard etc, think you were changing an electric shower,

Not sure about the makes you are looking at (I have some of the Grohe), however do find out what happens if you get a power cut....

The Grohe seem to go into a nervous breakdown, locking up and then needing the power turning off and on again a number of times, then going through a repriming routine. Long power cuts are not a problem, the short blip / lights flicker are (and no I am not buying a UPS for my showers).

Not a huge issue if you know what to do, however a major failing if I'm not there to fix it.

The appeal of a digital remote control shower was instantly destroyed by this, to quote my wife "Another *&^%ing expensive gadget that doesn't work as well as the basic model"

Supplier support, "Yes sir, they all do that......"
