We have a little problem with our shower at the moment. It's pump fed with hot water from a the tank (not electric). It generally works fine, but then the output can suddenly slow to a trickle - using the temperature dial, turning it to cold you get full pressure/flow, while turning it to hot you just get drips. It's freezing!

The pump is an oldish (~9 yr) Aquaforce 1.5bar pump. I've had a look and it seems OK from the outside, and when I come back to use it the next day it works fine.

Initial thought was the inline filter on the hot feed , but why would it suddenly block and then be fine again the next day?

Any thoughts before I admit defeat and call a plumber?

If the shower is supplied via cold water tank, perhaps the shower is using more water than the tank (flow) can provide.
