I moved out of my property at the end of March, the rent expired at the end of April which is when the contract expired.

We agreed immediately with the landlord what was to be deducted from the deposit, this was when the rent expired (May 1st).

The fkwittery of an agency have since messed me about stating that payments have been sent, it's now with the accounts team, there was an error, come back to us in 3 working days, come back to us in 2 working days.

So - It's now gone on long enough and I want to call advice from the mighty PH.

Without wanting to take a day off work to visit their office, or ring any more times to be told 'sorry nobody in the office is available who can help', or sending emails, is there a legal time frame in which they have to return the deposit? It's been 10 (working) days since I heard back from them last stating that the money had been sent. My bank advises of no pending transactions, my details were correct.

Also, on a monthly basis without fail, I had to submit a copy of my bank statement to PROVE that I had paid my rent (It was a standing order, same day, every month, without fail) - how can I ask for those fkwits to prove they have sent my money?

They're a large agency which covers the South-West / Wales, and I have written confirmation stating that it is in the scheme.

If not - I would be able to sue them for double the deposit, according to the grubberment.

What I would really like to do is let them have a taste of their own medicine, by requesting copies of bank statements to prove the monies have been sent, feasible?

Wrong, see the recent High Court Judgement Draycott v Hannells Lettings Ltd, with more similar cases/judgements awaited in the next few days.

Return of a Deposit, 14 days I would not consider unreasonable, the OP should be dealing with the TDS holding the registration of the Deposit, and not with the agents.

Think you may have misread something Wings. It's been nearly 6-weeks not 2.

I did not, I was stating that within 14 days would not be unreasonable for the return of a Deposit, SO 6 weeks is totally unacceptable and should be taken up with the TDS, and not with the agents.

If that was your intention it wasn't very clear.
