Wool Rugs Shedding

Have had a new rug for a week now but its still shedding loads. We've vacuumed it everyday but the shedding appears the same as we got it on day one. The sellers are saying this is quite normal and we can't return it as it has been custom made (we like the look and feel of it so not looking to return). Any tips on this problem?

Yep, they shed for ages. Ours started to stop (if that makes sense) after about 3-4 months as I recall.
