in my current house our bathroom is rather shabby, as its rented i just want a cheapy way of tarting it up as im not going to blow loadsa money on it although we will be here for a long time!
anyways, the bath is an old steel bath and has stained and faded yellow, its dimensions are 720x620mm
i would rip it out and get a standard size one..1500/1700x700mm iirc
but the bathroom is tiny and it wont fit widthways

sooo i am going to paint it with 2pac paint i can get from my paint supplier, but its pricey, would i be able mask everything off and spray it with hammerite? or should i use etch primer, paint and clearcoat laquer?
just want a cheap and easy fix!

Common table salt use to work on revitalising enamel baths, and there are also are proprietary cleaners on the market to do the same.
Enamel baths need a professional company to re-enamel the bath, DIY with 2 part paints just do not work, and as Simpo Two correctly pointed out, ask the permission from your landlord first before replacing or doing any work to the bath.

as for asking landlord he's fine with it, ive decorated pretty much the whole house anyways!
Goodo
I had a result - went to visit my tenant recently and unbenknownst to me the neighbour had completely replaced the tatty old fence with a spanking nice new, much better one. I'm pretty sure it's my boundary so the neighbour should have asked (and I should probably have paid for it) - but as it's so good I'm keeping quiet!

thanks for the input guys, i think im just gna wire wool it, prime and spray it, never use it for baths, only showers, so should be ok, if it aint then i will get some tupac paint
ha, thats good then, if nything goes wrong here im straight on the phone to the landord!
he paid for a new boiler not so long ago for 2.5k!
he's paying me to paint the outside, and he paid me to do the inside, thats how i found the house, ive added my own twist on the rooms since i been here (patterned papers, doing the Nursury)
i source all the stuff pretty much free or at cost, i work for a company that refurbs council houses, and they seem to throw out good tiles, half buckets of adhesive, grout etc :S
i even got my shower from a skip!!
all does alright tho, will post pics up of the before and after i think
