I am soon to be doing my ensuite and essentially i want one of those rain shower head things, i have never experienced one but they look cool.

Problem is my hot water pressure is not good (tank in the airing cupboard) and understand i need it to be pumped- which would be ok if there was room for a pump in the airing cupboard, so i need a negative head pump which will be around £350 i understand.
Now £350 for a pump, say £350 for a shower, plus a shower tray and screen and its now a grand for a shower frown

I realise an electric shower is probably best here but all the heads are so tiny, most look like the end of a hose.

Is it possible to simply remove the head wwhich comes with the electric shower and then replace it with a larger more rainy type article?

Or what other options do i have?

If you are unhappy with the pressure from a mains shower you will be woefully dissapointed by an electric shower.

Pump is your only option really. You could go with a powershower (looks like an electric shower but pulls hot and cold by use of a pump in the unit) but they can be noisy and you won't be able to specify a rain head type outlet.

Aqualisa remote pump kit with rain head - I paid about £250 + fitting. Electric showers are always disappointing IMHO.

Sounds interesting, can the pump kit go in the loft or does it need to be below the airing cupboard tank( cant remember the name? is it just a hot water tank? )

Is it the aqualisa digital range? which model and head? as all the ones i see seem to be much more than £250

They are, but they're great. My pump is directly above the shower in the roofspace, but it could have been in the airing cupboard. Have a look at the website for more info or ask your supplier. Very easy to fit.

There's a whole rake of confusion in your original post...or not.

When you say 'tank', do you mean cylinder? If so, then it's the height of the tank that feeds the cylinder that is important and you may well be able to raise this up in the roof space.

Depending on the height of this tank a neg head pump may well not be required. As long as the shower head is low enough compared to the tank it WILL flow some water and the flow switches will kick the pump in.

As far as electric showers go...they rely on the water going through them slowly to get heat into it. A BIG shower head will likely not look good with the pathetic flow that an electric shower gives.
