Recommendations for moving a greenhouse?

Other than very carefully!

We have a 8ft x 8ft glass greenhouse to move, its been in its current location for over 25 years, only 2 pieces of glass are broken and I'd like to keep it that way....

Other than lots of newspaper - any other suggestions?

I used chainsaw gloves recently when I moved one , made it easier to hold on to the glass , no broken panes and probably only took 2 hours tops.

Long nose pliers to pull the old clips out and let them fall where they want

Just buy a pack of new glazing clips and spacers .


edit , and stack the glass vertically , after having first numbered it to remember it's location

Glass panes are suprisingly heavy.
If you are transporting it by vehicle, stack the glass on edge in some strong wooden or plastic crates with polystyrene in the bottom of the crate to cushion it

A glass sucker handle makes getting hold of the panes easier and leaves you with one hand free to fiddle about with clips etc.

ETA we go through a lot of bubble wrap/protective wrapping in a week if you want some?

When I did this I labelled every pane of glass with a bit of masking tape & a number. Draw a quick diagram showing each side of it and where each bit goes.
Does make reassembly a lot quicker and easier

I did the same. Masking tape and a number indicating which row/column and side of the greenhouse each sheet came from. Took the opportunity to clean all the glass properly whilst it was apart as moss and other green gunge tends to build up on the glass near the frame. I also undid the miniumum of bolts to take the frame apart rather than taking it back to the individual parts and then put it all standing upright on an open trailer and bolted each 'panel' back together at the other end.
