Just go in and knock them down with a broom.

Cover yourself in jam before you go in as wasps hate jam and will stay away from you.

Yes mine was 8' x 3' and I used to keep the lawnmower in there hehe

whack it with a broom and run, there is not likely to be more than a handful in there.

Just leave it, unless you go bashing about in the shed knocking into things regularly then I'd bet money you'll never get stung and they'll cause you no problems whatsoever.

Come the autumn they'll swarm and go off elsewhere. The colony won't survive the winter and the nest won't be used again next year.

And in the meantime they'll kill lots of other garden bugs and pests that would otherwise be destroying your veg/herbs/flowers etc.

Alternatively buy a Honey Buzzard and lock it in the shed for a few days - wasp nest will be gone and you'll be left with a cool pet.

Good luck.

Make sure there is a river / pond / pool handy so if they swarm you can run away and and jump into to escape. A paddling pool will do if there is nothing handy.

I saw a documentary* on it once.

Bash it? Lol, you'll be sorry and they'll still come back looking for the nest, amazing sense of location. Once it's dark-ish most of them will have returned to the nest, seal as much of the place off as possible with tape and then empty a spray tin of wasp/fly killer into the shed and then seal that hole up too. In the morning look for any starting to make an exit and blast them with the wasp killer.

Then use wasp nest destroyer on it. It melts the nest and kills the grubs, bloody good stuff.

Last nest I had was a biggy, only stuff I had to hand was a spray tin of carpet adhesive. Webbed the nest and did the job.

This one in my loft was over a meter high with approximately 2000 wasps inside! Took the professionals 2 visits to kill them all! The guy said it was the biggest he'd ever seen!!!

There was a insect spray called Mr Fist when I went on holiday last year. That seemed to kill everything it touched

Tazer the nest then issue S59's on them.
Have the nest impounded, round up the remaining suspects using pepper spray as required.

Man up get in there with big tin of fly spray cover the nest till its soaked.
Break a hole in it with a broom handle and spray in some more.
They'll be pretty pissed by now so dont go in there with just yer boxers on.
I could come over with a 12 gauge but it might make a mess of the shed roof.

I dealt with one in my garden rockery yesterday
They were no match for my industrial blow torch 7 I was just wearing shorts.
All gone this morning.
