selling my own house
Discussion
Hi All,
I'm looking for a spot of advice on selling my own house without using a traditional high-street agent.
I'm blanching at the idea of writing a cheque to an agent for an amount that would easily cover a nice XJS or 944, so looking hard at the alternatives.
I'm concerned that whatever way I jump I really need to be on the evil monopolistic behemoth that is Rightmove.
Has anyone any experience of this type of thing and can you recommend any specific sites or providers please?

My cousin used them and sold her house. And all for a flat fee. Seems like a good idea to me - I don't see traditional EA's as providing VFM.
If you're willing to do some of the legwork then it's a good way to go. I would prefer something like this as it gives you more control over your communications with buyers, and don't have to listen to slimey EA's. Now that HIPS aren't required anymore, it's probably an even better choice. My cousin used them and sold her house. And all for a flat fee. How do viewings work with housenetwork? Do you have to do them yourself?
Wait till unother house similiar size & price is for sale in your street then put your own board up with mobile tel number (£10 max cost) and wait for the passing trade and subsequent phone calls, saved me several thousand !!!!
