Okay ruling out shooting the buggers. Has anyone tried any of the motion activated ultrasonic anti moggy devices, and do they work?

Edited to add, I don't really want to muck about spreading chemical stuff everywhere, or getting up all night to chuck water over them. Hence the idea of one of these automatic devices.

Like I say, I'm not asking for a general discussion about various methods. I'm specifically asking if anyone has used or bought an ultrasonic cat deterrant. Did it work.

i did as im v allergic to them and they kept going on my garden sofa. noticed that after putting one in.. £25 quid from homebase) the cats started going across my conservatory roof to avoid triggering them.

You may need two to eliminate cats completely. They make a fairly high pitched noise when being triggered and also use batteries quickly so 12v connection best.

good luck

Thanks! I've ordered a £20 one, so we'll give that a go, and see if it keeps the sodding things out.

we've got an ultrasonic deterrant on our garden and it does work. Also try getting some 'Get Off' spray (think B&Q do it.

It took about a week for it all to work but the cats soon got the message and don't bother coming over to use over borders for a toilet anymore.

Lazy feckers don't even bother digging a hole, just squat and go.

Quite, my entirely reasonable suggestion of attaching corks to the end of the bolts for my mini-crossbow and using them as the moggie equivalent of plastic bullets was vetoed by the Missus.
