I have just found millions of ants running around outside the house! mad

So seeing as the shops are shut and we don't have ant killer around we tried a variety of methods.

Meths, a lighter, can of deo and last but not least a small welding torch!

I shall leave you to guess which was the most effective biggrin

could do with some ant powder tomorrow though seeing as there are still lots more to go at frown

In much the same way as Elvis was a little bit constipated.

Weird. Today about 16:00 the nest must have hatched as my site was covered in flying ants. I went to fuel a car and the petrol station was no different. F'azands of em.

I have just seen the other thread on ants in the lounge (the one that didn't get moved) and it looks like theres a bit of a trend appearing in terms of ants popping up today!

Most of ours were the crawling not flying type but several flying ants also got burned to a gruesome death too biggrin

^^^^This^^^^

I have been busy getting the flying ants hatching around my house today. There is usually one point in the year where they seem to hatch. Today was the beginning.

Not a bad idea but I will probably get and powder today and try to do the job properly.

Yesterday was just a "temporary measure" to reduce the numbers around the back of the house by the door. (Don't want them in the house!!)

+ 1 for flying ants last night. I think they all wait for specific weather condition (temp, humidity, windspeed) or something. I just left them.

Just re-read your post and noticed you said "pour onto the source of the ants" I wil do this as well as it seems a logical method of getting rid of the nest without them having to eat the posion smile
