Hi, we have a 1930's house, and the front steps have started to crumble.

They look like red granite, but seem to actually be concrete with some sort of coating.

I am fine with the patching with concrete, but it would be good to get some match with the remaining undamaged steps and the porch, which are still in good condition.

Has anyone any experience of this material, I don't think it is a paint.

All ideas welcome thanks!

Try Googling for 'Cement Tone'. It is an additive that one can use to colour the mortar.

I've seen this recently but not tried it, although it looks interesting.

Google "Hypertufa".
