A well deserved beer
Discussion
Been a bit busy the last 4 weeks.
1 month ago started knocking down the wall between the kitchen/dining room (used my foot mainly, it was good fun
):

A few days later the new kitchen arrived. Bought if from a wren kitchens, a company I had never heard of, but came recommended via PH
It's only the second time they have delivered north of the border, and have to say they have been fantastic! Excellent website, excellent quality of units, far far better than b&q et al, and a hell of a lot cheaper! (I have no affiliation with wren, just an extremely happy customer).

So, the new kitchen and appliances are crammed into my living room. The house is manic for a while, and the Mrs & son move to the inlaws for 10 days while I'm "on holiday from work".

Place is gutted, new ceiling and all cables for new lighting put in place. I left the plastering and electrics to a pro, have no patience for that stuff.

And I was soooo busy there are no photos until now. I was meant to be on holiday for 1 week, ended up working 18 hour days with no breaks. Ended up taking 3 weeks of solid work (normal day job, then working into the evenings on this) If only I was getting paid

I didn't lay the flooring, left it to the pro's

Getting there..

Just the dining room, door, skirting/facing, blinds, audio system, pc, sort out the lighting remote control stuff, and a few other bits and I'm done
A very knackered Neil.

Good taste on the kitchen & lager front
Gloss white is what we have, I think it will look OK for years, although you have a few more pyramid lights than we do!! What lights did you use in your kickboards? That is my next project, I have our pyramid lights on a sensor so they switch on when you walk into the room
You know you want to.............

Dave, just got the plinth lights from b&q. There was an offer on, 10 for £30 or something, these were the cheapest of all the lighting and really easy to install. The led's are actually white, although they look blu'ish in the photos. The sensor sounds good
Got all the lights hooked up to the remote control tonight, makes a difference!

Let me know if you want details on the sensor-I'll dig them out. It's a clever design as it sits behind the light switch (single gang) so really easy to retro fit. Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff

Had many a discussion with the mrs about it during the design process. Having a baby, it's used pretty heavily, wife wasn't so keen on a built in.
