Hi All,

I have a kitchen going in at the moment (at a rental property) and I wanted to make it look as good as possible without breaking the bank !

So the kitchen is from Howden.......I'm thinking......shall I just get the maple end panels from B&Q at 1/3 of the price and put them on?

The Howden kitchen is a basic, Greenwich maple.....

.....thoughts please.

I need to keep to a tight budget.

Don't Howdens units come pre-made though? If so I'd have thought it'd be a pain to dismantle and replace an end panel.

I would glue/screw the end panel to the side of the cupboard.

If you're not getting a Howden kitchen for a B&Q price, you're talking to the wrong people!

Howdens carcases come ready made, so there end panels are clad on and go all the way to the floor, I was under the impression the b & q end panels you replaced one of the side panels on the carcase for the "coloured" end panel and returned the plinth (kickboard) down the side??

You could buy the b&q but you would need extra plinth to return down the sides to hide the legs..

Unless b&q do full length end panels now I am un sure of that though..

Lump of MDF with maple-effect sticky-back plastic?

Well you did say tight budget!

What he said. You should be seeing circa 60-70% off RRP.

Different elements of the kitchen will have different discounts applicable but I find Howdens to come in at about the same price as B&Q/Wickes et all but just a bit better quality (and ready built).
