Rental Agreement Question
Discussion
I am renting a property as of tomorrow. Handed over a deposit to the agent last week and collected the contract tonight to return tomorrow. It is a flat and I am aware that a management fee is paid on the property. The agent said that the landlord pays this fee.
When I have read the rental agreement is states that 'the tenant will pay all costs associated with the property including council tax, gas, electricity, gas and water'. Nothing about the management fee is mentioned anyway in the contract.
I contacted the agent who said that the landlord will pay the fee every month and that they wouldn't a tenant after signing the contract. The monthly rental cost includes it.
Is this standard practice or should I chase this up? I don't want to be hit over the head with the contract in a months time, holding me to paying a management fee.
Advice would be warmly welcomed!
Thanks,

It could be that the owner/landlord is renting out a Leasehold flat, where the flat is part of others within a block of flats, that is managed by a Management Company. This is nothing to do with the Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement that the OP/tenant has through the letting agents with the owner/landlord, so not a charge/bill that the tenant/OP will be expected to pay.
