I've just managed to crack my (acrylic) kitchen sink frown

Was sterilising some bottles for home made cider (nom nom nom) and while pulling the bottle brush out thumped the sink with a bottle. A few seconds later my feet were soaking wet.

The bloody plastic/acrylic sink has split. Not that I like the thing (we're long overdue a new kitchen) but the night before I go away for work for a week is not the time. Wilma's pretty miffed at having to use a washing up bowl until I get back and (I suppose) install a new one.

Buggrit.

B & Q do a reasonable range of cheap stainless sinks if you need a quick replacement that doesn't need to last long. The cheapest sink is only £30, and fitting them isn't that time consuming.

The only pain the arse when installing a new sink in an already cut out hole is size. Make sure the new one requires the same (doubtful!) if not bigger cut out size. Then mark it up, get the jigsaw out and get cutting.

Due to this, I think the sink size will rule above the cost.

What on earth does that mean? Is it the sound of someone pissed on home made cider? wobble

Not yet, it needs a week in the bottles for second fermentation.

I'm away now until next week so the Mrs will have to make do with a washing up bowl until I can fit a cheapy. We needed an incentive to fit a new kitchen, this may be it. Thanks folks.

If you are near South Wales, I've got a spare sink and tap you can have.

Hey, thanks Ricky. Much appreciated but I'm up in Hertfordshire, bit far to come. Very kind of you though.

In a similar vein I've a small, plain white washbasin that I bought and never fitted. Free to collector.

or sikaflex squidged in to the crack?

BTW I found my double bowl resin sink in Calais, for just over 100 quid including colour matched mixer tap and the waste set. Much (like a quarter of the UK price) cheaper!!!
