We have 6 goldfish that the new owners of our house do not want - we can not take them with us (moving to Hong Kong). I do not want to flush them down the loo and it turns out it is illegal to 'set them free' in a local pond....... the place we bought them from do not take them back.....
Does anyone near Farnborough (hants) want 6 gold fish? or can anyone suggest something - that does not involve cooking/eating them......

Set them free in a local pond and let the UK police try and extradite you from Honk Kong if they find out.

You could always put an ad in a local paper or see if a pet shop will take them?

Suggestion 3. Leave them for the new tenants/owner if you know someone is moving in .. that's what i did with my 2 goldfish.

Goldish & Chips ?

You could always put them in the local stream at midnight. Use to dump a bucket full of frog spawn from the pond in the local stream at night. If the authorities want to chase me yo Aus they are welcome to collect the fine !

It is highly irresponsible to release pet fish into the wild or any fishery. The carp family particularly are under threat by several serious diseases that are prevalent in the ornamental carp trade (Goldfish, Koi etc. - herpes, spring viraemia, pox) - even though your fish may show no symptoms. Find a new pet home or destroy them humanely.

Do you own a cat? Is any occasion approaching at which a small treat might be in order?
