Paternoster kitchen shelving

I have seen paternoster shelving used in factories and wharehouses, and it provides an awful lot of storage within a given space. Is anything like this available for kitchens, allowing the cupboards to be taken up to ceiling height? I did a Google search but could find nothing for kitchens.

How would that work? I imagine of your ceiling was 20ft high you could use the space, but if it's 8ft high why bother with a paternoster?
