We're trying to freshen up the kitchen on a tight budget. I need a couple of lengths of work top. Ikea do one that would look ok for £35. Same thickness one in B&Q is £75+.
Is the B&Q one a lot better?

Have a look at your local timber merchants that the trade use and you should get a better quality for the same or less.
DON'T be tempted to go for a gloss work top as they only look good when new and scratch easily.

we're looking into that at the moment. I demonstrated to the wife in B&Q last night how the glossy worktop looks with the aid of a key smile
