Hullo,

If the cold tap in my kitchen has really low pressure yet the two in the bathroom (bath and sink) are normal and the hot water pressure is low everywhere then is this something the water companies should be dealing with? Was fine yesterday.

do you have a combi?

if so check the pressure on that before investigating further - if it is low then just connect the filling loop and open both end which is nice and easy.

It would explain why the issue is with the hot water mainly.

Topping up the pressure on a combi boiler will only affect the heating circuit. Nothing to do with pressure at the taps.

Either way your kitchen tap should be fed off the rising main. Low pressure there indicates low mains pressure.

Alternativel your kitchen tap may have some form of blockage. Limescale perhaps?

What kind of system do you have OP?

Combi boiler?

System boiler with hot water cylinder and cold tank in the loft?

Got this problem too - it can't be the tap as we've just had a new kitchen installed including mixer tap, unless it's damaged/blocked by a foreign object.

Anything else I should look at?

Has it been done properly or with flexi-hoses. They have a small bore and kink easily. (They also fail regularly on hot-water, but that's another story)

Flexi hoses - small bore so that may be the issue.

Thanks
