Currently trying to prep the walls for a plasterer and have taken most of the paper from the solid walls. However we've found some that has been put directly on to plasterboard.

What's the best course of action for removing the paper? Scrapping it off seems to just damage the first paper layer of the plaster board. See below:

But it's directly on to the plasterboard. No skim in the middle!

Steam

If he is plastering over it, it doesn't really matter what condition you leave the outer layer in wink When he's finished, it will be smooth as silk - well it should be!

Rip down plasterboard, put up new plasterboard. Honestly - removing **anything** from plasterboard is a complete nightmare.

I'd just overboard it, there's no way your gonna get the paper off without damaging the board. If you do damage the board the guy who's skimming it isn't going to be best pleased

If that's as bad as it gets don't worry.

I spread onto far worse on a daily basis without issue.
