A bit of a brief background.
In june I bought a second property to rent out, spent 7 weeks decorating after which tenant moves in.
shortly after get a bill for £85 for water supply & approximately £100 for waste water charges, bearing in mind no one has lived there and the only water used is the odd trip to the loo and to clean a few paint brushes, so I phone to query the bill.
First suggestion was that there was a leak, so they sent someone out and there was no leak.
Phone them today and apparently it's some computer program that has worked the bill out rather than taking the meter readings I requested.
Based on a bit of a crude estimate of my actual usage it should be about 4% of what they are billing and thats being very generous.
Other than writing to them which I've just done, what should I do?
My plan was to write to them today, send via e-mail and post and if they don't respond send a cheque for what I think it should be.
It's really annoying as gas was £0 and electric was £2.60 for the period I was responsible for the house, I knew on of the utilities would be a pain in the arse.
