We have a pressurized water system which we run at 3 bar. After two years we now find the pump to pressurize the system keeps kicking in. My first port of call was to replace the pressure vessel for a new but slightly larger one of 12 litres. The problem I have now is:

1. It still keeps re pressurizing but a little more time before the pump turns on.

2. I turn it off at night to save the pump and cut down on the noise but I now get what I think is air sucking back. I don't isolate the pump from the main feed so that I guess would cure that problem.

So what is going on for it to keep turning on...maybe a leak but I cannot find one. If it was a leak could it be a dribble or a leaking toilet etc rather than some large flow of water.

If it was mine I'd install a ball valve just upstream of the reservoir and see if it still did it.
If so the pump valve probably has a small leak back into the supply.
= new pump valve or install a new/additional one way valve.
