Where your rubbish goes?
I buy a lot of parts/crap off the interwebs..generally it comes to either my home or office in a jiffy bag. The jiffy bags have my name and address on the front and they usually have a note of some sort inside with these details on too.
I heard that a lot of our rubbish ends up all over India and other places that are less economically developed. It worried me and I ended up with a mass of jiffy bags and things I didn't want to put in the bin! I've just spent half an hour ripping up jiffy bags and bits of paper, filled a full bin bag and still some left to go in the bin! Theres enough fraud and dodgy goings on in this world as it is without my details being posted all over the place.
Am I a certified loon or does anyone else have the same worries when binning things?

Lol jiffy bags are a bit more difficult, but the pieces of paper with your information? wont it be your best interest to shred them up and recycle all the shreddings?
Mate of mines used to have a fireplace, and his dad often put anything with sensitive/important information in the fireplace.

Always burn bits with any sensitive information on - soak them all in water for a few days and you can use the pulp to make solid 'bricks'. They work well for starting fires and the countless bits of paper with details on etc are disposed of in the process. The sheets of paper that are plastic coated get cut up and then burnt once the fire is going nicely.

make sure you start the fire- did a job for an semi invalid 80 year old who was living in semi squalor- i reroofed his house for free. his family(friends of mine) believed him to be broke - they paid his council tax, heating, electric etc he was an ex p.o.w. -concentration camp building bridges for japs etc all alone etc blah blah
after finishing the job in good time, then fixing his old citroen, and loads of other odd jobs i decided to clean out his wood burner as it was choked full with crap - on the top was his bank statement from standard chartered that he had forgotten to burn. only £120,000 in cash in his current account.... his dividends from shell were impressive.
seems the good ones died in the concentration camp...
