buying a lager duvet than bedsize

I am fed up of getting cold in the night. I like to roll up in the duvet and so does OH. We have a kingsize bed and so I am thinking of getting a superkingsize duvet. Would this be a huge error?

Buy two seperate smaller duvets, problem solved. That's how they do it on the continent and it makes sense.

Get two duvets. Then you can each choose how hot you want to be.
No gap down the middle either!

Instead of buying a Superkingsize duvet plus 2x sets of linen etc just buy a low tog (4.5)Superkingsize duvet and on cold

nights throw it over the top? What I do.SBR.

We just had our new custom built kingsize bed delivered. Jaysus, it takes me five minutes to roll across to the edge to go for a pee!

We had a normal double before, some antique brass thing the wife obtained, but even with my short stature my feet touched the cold frame at the bottom, unless I was touching the top with my head.

Mind you, the average English mini-house doesn't allow much more than a standard sized bed.

This, two regular sized ones. The OH and I do this since otherwise one of us will be without blanket in no-time.

Two duvets is the way forward, its one of the things I've taken freely onboard from my girlfriend and her Germanic ways. No more fighting over the duvet, no more cold gap in the middle and she gets 13.5 tog while I have 10.5 tog.

We have a King size bed with a super King duvet, doesn't stop her nicking all of it during the night though.

The arse-ache is getting linen for a large duvet. It's also hard work putting a duvet cover on anything more than a double.

Much as I hate to agree with 993silvertroll, you'll find that much of northern Europe use two singles rather than one large - however where's the fun in that?

Personally, I'd go for a superkingsize duvet in the best quality goose-down you can afford, and snuggle up.

Well said. Bed time is about cuddling up and two separate duvets is about as appealing as separate bedrooms. Just get a duvet you can cuddle up under together.

Without going into detail, me and my girlfriend use the two duvet system and it doesn't stop any fun. If you're unable to move a duvet aside I suspect you're too old or weak to be bothered anyway.
