Bit of a strange one.
We've got a solid wood floor, which is great. But its got no insulation under, so gets very cold and is horrible to walk on.
What I thought of, is to get it carpeted, but not permanently. Kind of like a rug, but extends to every corner of the room.
Does such a product exist? I suppose I could get a company to measure and cut to size, and just deliver it. I can then just lay it over the wooden floor (with a protector). Voila.

Even a 'permanent' carpet can be removed, and if the gripper rods were nailed rather glued you'd only be left with tiny holes which would barely show.

I suppose grippers could do it, I just didn't want to have to do it.
Is carpet really going to help keep it alot warmer though? Single skin wall and single glazing isnt very good at keeping in warmth.

The floor may seem cold simply because varnished wood conducts heat away quickly. Carpet will seem much warmer to walk on even though it's exactly the same temperature. I don't think that whatever you do to the floor will have much effect on room temerature.
