We have just had our old back boiler removed from the chimney breast and a new condensing boiler fitted in the kitchen.

Is it possible to put a woodburner in the chimney breast and use the old metal flue that is left from the back boiler?

No. Gas/Oil liner is simply much too weak for a solid fuel appliance.

Ok thanks, what's the procedure if I still want a wood burner then?

You would need a new liner to the correct grading, Absolutely love our burner though the only regret is having one with a back boiler plumbed into the rads to heat the rest of the house.

Are you saying you regret connecting the woodburner to the rads? - if so can I ask why. I'm in the process of getting a multifuel stove to backup my oil heating and I can't decide whether its worth the substantial extra cost to have it connected to the existing CH.

Sorry typing error, wish we had have paid the extra so the rads are plumbed in to the wood burner. Currently looking into straw burners to work with the solar to heat the swimming pool.
