Painting A Ceiling, How Many Coats? (NSFW)

My friend has asked me to hold the steps while she paints the ceiling. How many coats will be enough?

Nah home garden and DIY are like the shed down the bottom of the garden, there to throw all the dross into but scary to go inside.
