new fire - modern convector or stove?
Discussion
5 bed detached house, but living room is rather small (around 11ftx11ft) had new central heating installed/new windows etc..
now for the fireplace - I've always loved the idea of a wood burning stove but am in 2 minds if not to get a modern looking convector gas fire instead more for the convenience of being able to have it instantly warm. Plus is likely to be occasional use (hour or two on really cold evenings as heating is constantly on anyway)
However stove could be lit in the morning and warm a lot of the house for the whole day/night...
we also have 2 kids under age of 2 so fireguard will be needed.
I like either:
1) Modern Convector Fire like this: http://www.fireplaces-oldham.co.uk/verine_gas_fire...
2) Modern built in stove like this: http://www.fireplaces-oldham.co.uk/barbas_woodburn...
3) or traditional wood burner like this: http://www.directstoves.com/p/844974/esse-500-wood...
which would you choose with similar small room?

Woodburner could be upto 90% efficient but will require flue in chimney which is quite expensive, most of the solid fuel convection fires are about 50% efficient (open fire is about 10%) but don't generally need any chimney work.
If you can't be bothered with the hassle / grubbiness of these gas is your option.
I've got a woodburner and burn old pallets from work, pretty much heats the whole house.
