Screeching tap help

The hot water tap in the bathroom lets off a loud screech when turned on, which after a short while goes away. I'm thinking it may be an air lock or perhaps it needs a new washer (laymans guess!)

Anybody have any ideas how to fix this before i call the plumber?

Sounds like your tap and/or bathroom is possessed, I'd flush it out with holy water.

Had the same problem with my shower. I turned down the water pressure a bit and it's been fine since.
