Bit of a random one here, but its highly frustrating. Our Proline washing machine keeps stopping/pausing at exactly 43 mins every single time. I presume its happens when switching between a certain cycle or it a program thing.

Anyhow unless I can sort it out, the Mrs is pressuring me to get a new one - and as you know they ain't cheap.

Any ideas how I could fix this?

Best thing would be to put it on a 42 minute cycle. wink

But, being serious; does this happen before the water-pump kicks in? If so could be something stuck in the pump.

Have you tried it on different cycles? Have you tried it on part cycles ie spin, rinse etc?

The most common problem is that the filter is jammed with crud so the machine won't spin/drain properly.

It should be on the front somewhere, have you ever checked it? BE CAREFUL, YOU NEED A TRAY OR SOMETHING TO CATCH THE WATER IT WILL BE WET...........

I've found that my Hotpoint machine will get stuck at the spin part of the cycle if it's overloaded; at a guess it monitors either vibration or the motor current draw when spinning up and decides "bugger this for a game of soldiers".

It then keeps trying and failing to spin up, the clock displaying the same time constantly, until someone realises it's on its arse and turns it off.

(By the way, is it just Hotpoints or do all washing machines have a rather hit-and-miss approach to timekeeping? Mine often says it's got a minute left to finish for about 10 mins before it actually stops)

Yep, same software as TFL use at their bus stops.

Each time it stops, does the radio play 'I got you Babe' by Sonny and Cher?

If so you may have problems...
