Hi. I quite fancy installing a woodburner in my dining room. I live in a 1930's semi-detached with standard chimnies. The chimney from my dining room has been removed between the floor in my loft and the roof. Would it be possible for me to install the woodburner with a liner and some sort of protection from heat in the loft, passing on up to the roof?? As the chimney is towards the middle of my house, I'm guessing that the heat would radiate outwards somewhat, and the flu passing through the loft would also keep that space warm!!

The fireplace is still in the dining room but bricked up, it would be easy enough to open back up. Messy right enough!! Lol.

You would need a double skinned flue at least for the exposed section in the loft where the original chimney section has been removed. Not sure if you can then connect this to s single skinned section that runs in the remaining chimney below.
