Just had a delivery of Rasberrys and Climbing roses ! - roots and sticks. Whats best to plant them into the ground asap (unfrozen ground here at mo) or pot them up and wait until spring.

Have 12 roses and 25 rasberrys and 6 rhubarb, 24 strawberrys.

Veg patch can be dug over and is not frozen much. Ground where the roses are to go is sheltered and not frozen either. Had hoped the delivery would come about a month ago but alas it did not.

Though I have no horticultural knowledge, I assume that they are dormant and would not, therefore be doing anything anyway had they been in the ground. They won't be as happy sitting in a shed with their roots exposed to the cold / dry atmosphere or, conversely, to the condensation on the inside of a bag around the roots. If you can get into the ground (as you say) without a pneumatic drill, I'd put them in (without frosting the roots as they wait). They'll be kept moist and won't be as cold as they could be if above ground.
