Terraced house, cavity ins., damp? Party wall issues?
Discussion
just had someone round yesterday about this for my house. there's a govt energy saving/green initiative which means you can get it done under subsidy, regardless of house age or income now. think it costs about 150 quid. guaranteed not to cause damp either. i'll dig the paperwork out if you're interested.

House is so cold. Considering cavity wall insulation. What are the chances of it causing damp? Also concerned as it is a terrace that any damp could affect next door. Can they effectively stop end it at the party wall?
Its a no brainer, do it. If there's likely to be a problem they'll tell you on the survey. No doubt someone will say otherwise on here.

Yes iff you could PM me with the info that would be great ta. Definately want that guarantee to. Do you know what type they use? e.g. polystyrene balls or the foam etc.Engineer1 said:
You do have cavity walls don't you? Not all terraced houses have them along with proper damp courses, foundations etc.
I have a damp course. I'll check the bond of the bricks later but pretty sure it does have cavity walls. Gassing Station | Homes, Gardens and DIY | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
