Looking for the old style 150 watt screw fit bulbs but they dont seem to make them anymore what alternatives are there, instead of the dull 60 watt ones all the shops still sell.

You mean like this?

It shows a bayonet fitting but describes a screw fitting so should be good!

There's a shop in my High St that still has old bulbs.

It's like buying porn, full of men asking if they have any 100w screw cap, frosted under the counter.

It takes too long for energy saving lightbulbs to light up, so I just leave them on all day*

Are real (filament) bulbs still legal?

It's getting hard to find them in the shops.

Seems stupid the way we've all been forced to buy mercury vapour filled candles.

10p for an Energy saving candle bulb, vs £2.05 for 2 "normal" 40w ones in my local Tesco Express earlier. Had to get the normal ones as on a dimmer switch frown

Don't worry, the subsidy is being withdrawn along with filament bulbs. Say hello to the £5 energy saver bulb by year's end.

My wholesaler informs me the "halogena" incadescent lamps will continue to be "allowed" as they're slightly more efficient than trad filament lamps, and I've got a few of the 70w's in use and they're pretty much comparible to old 100w's, as claimed.

40W, 60W, 75W, 100W lightbulbs.

2A, 5A, 15A sockets.

Red for live because red is the natural colour for danger, black for neutral because black means nothing, brown for earth because earth is brown.

Simples smile

And then that cock Heath sold us into slavery, sorry the EU.
