OK, this is a bit of a weird question for you all, but I need some help!

Basically, I want the TV in my bedroom to sit on top of a chest of drawers, which is fine. The problem then comes with where to put the DVD player and Xbox that are hooked up to the TV. I was hoping I could buy some thin backless shelves or something, but I can't find anything suitable after Googling.

I've done a rather comical Paint drawing of what I was hoping for:

The drawer unit thing is more or less the length of the wall it is up against, ruling out a narrow AV stand stood next to it. Plus I don't really want to start putting AV stands in the bedroom, I'd rather it didn't look like a lounge!

I know it's a weird one, but any ideas/solutions to this?

Cheers ears. smile

I would put the DVD player etc in one of the drawers. They might need a bit of adapting, by perhaps adding a hinge arrangement, but at least all will be hidden. Small hole in the back to bring cables up and job done!

If it's in a drawer, how will the remote operate it?

ETA: Ah, the hinge! smile

Have a look around Ikea. A small 2 shelf TV stand, minus its wheels, might do the job.

Would it not be cheaper to go to your local b&q with some measurments and have some MDF cut from some off cuts?.

After all it is going in your bedroom so does it need to be anything fancy?. My guess is you will get the little shelfing to your size for less than a fiver. If your local B&Q has the chop saw it will save you cutting it add 12 screws lick of paint and bobs your uncle.

Stick them in a drawer, then use an IR repeater for the DVD player (and XBOX remote if you use one) - if you use the controllers, they use RF so won't be affected.

I was thinking of something more like the kits on here: http://www.irextender.co.uk/

I think maplin do something similar to what you posted but slightly smaller units too.

+1 on ikea having something for the job, something like this minus the wheels seems a perfect fit:

Wouldn't almost any kind of AV stand do the job? (aside from being ridiculously expensive biggrin)

Easy fix - make one out of MDF and paint it. That way you get exactly the size you want, in whatever colour you want, for about £10.
