Did he to up a lsdder to do it?

there is usualy some kind of switch thst triggers if its taken off teh wall or if teh lid comes off. If this is normaly open circuit iwonder if moisture could have shorted it.

from what I just goodled

"Have you tried it correctly, press quick then 1, or your user code then 1.
If none of this works you need to reprogramme the Gardtec Eurosec panel. Only an engineer can do that, unless you have the engineers code."

no my bad engrish just copied and pasted from fixya

Bellboxes have an anti-tamper pressure switch which trips when the lid is taken off. The switch has a metal strip on it and this can sometimes straighten out meaning that it no longer presses against the bellbox cover and so trips.

You need to take the cover off and see if you can bend the metal strip out again.

If you do this be extremely careful on a ladder, wear some ear protection in case bell goes off again and do not at any cost touch the strobe which can be hot.

If you have any doubts do not attempt this, call someone in.

smile

there may have been a couple shots of whisky in me, but alas I fear it is a combination of wireless keyboard and being a bit thick that is the main culprit of my unintelligable posts and shockingly embarrasing spelling and punctuation smile.

DIY link for tamper faults here

If you don't get any joy, drop me a PM and I will tell you which wires to link out at the control panel. At least that way you will know for sure whether it's wiring related, panel related or tamper switch related.

To be constructive biggrin rather than the strobe being hot, if the strobe flashes as you touch it you could get a nasty wollop of the thing, trust me it hurts hehe

So long as the bell cable hasn't been damaged, my guess will be a loose connection somewhere at the panel or bell, the tamper switch gone faulty at the bell or a dodgy bell fuse at the panel. To reset the panel after a tamper fault though you may need an engineer code.

biggrin I knew you had to wait a few minutes and avoid touching it(as mentioned in my SAB manual) but couldn't exactly remember why!

Anyway, amounts to the same thing up a ladder: "ouch" followed by "Aaaaarrrgghh!" hehe
