Hi,

I'm after replacing the current radiators in our house instead of repainting them and due to the fact they are an old ugly style.

Where is the cheapest place to source some new ones and will they all mount up to existing pipework?

Thanks in advance!

most plumbers I know say don't buy cheap ones like screwfix as its false economy for some reason, so I bought some Stelrad sofline ones which were recomended

I always fit delonghi rads available fom travis perkins. Approx 15% more than screwfix ones but neve had a problem with them and there btu figures are good. Screwfix rads look cheap compared to these as well.

Cheers

I've been doing my place up and basically used rads from Wickes with no problems, much neater with the panels to close them in than the old open styles.

I'd be very surprised if you were lucky enough to find a new radiator that would have connectors in exactly the right width. Measure carefully, you never know, but I've always redone the pipes becuase I've replaced old big single radiators with smaller doubles in most rooms.

We went for the stelrad softline ones as well, and got them from PTS. They should have a branch near you where you can pick them up locally or get them delivered.

Quite good radiators for a little more than Screwfix.
