There seems to be a lot of people on eBay who are selling garage equipment and tools that have come from closed down garages.

Where do they get the stuff from, is there somewhere that stuff gets advertised when businesses close? I want to try and go to the source rather than mess around biding on eBay.

These people disposed of a lot of stuff from a garage chain that closed down round here recently.

I think a lot of chance is involved, a couple of years ago a small garage near me closed down after starting in the 1940s. It closed as the insurace got to high as it was a wooden structure serving petrol, but instead of selling the stuff they collected over the years the elderly owner hired skips everything from 1950s shell glass petrol pump globes, tools, even a aston martin DB 5 gearbox went in, unfortunatly I found out to late gutted.
