I've recently moved into a new place (new build) and am thinking about adding a bit of colour to the kitchen. The kitchen itself is pretty smart, except that the cabinet doors are what I could only describe as 'hospital' coloured.

Since it's all new stuff and pretty solid I don't really want to go down the route of replacing stuff. Instead I'm thinking I could get quite a smart affect using some high gloss self adhesive vinyl like this

Has anyone here got any experience of working with this stuff? The doors themselves are completely flat so in my head it should go on pretty easily - a bit like wrapping a christmas present. Does this seem like as straightforward an idea as I'm imagining or should I step away from the crack pipe?

How will you mould it round the edge of the doors and make it look good ?

Wickes do a specific paint for kitchen doors, don't know what is like just saw it in there the other day, think they do spray cans and brush on stuff. HTH.

Painted ours and this gives the "cache" (sic) of a "handpainted" kitchen

There are also companies that will make and fit brand new doors onto the existing carcasses - but obviously much more £ than DIY.
